Description of Drilling Supervisor | Job Scope: • To ensure that Drilling, Workover and Completion operations are carried out in accordance with approved operational programs, including any revisions sanctioned by management. Job Objectives: • To protect company’s commercial interest, safety of all individuals at the well site, the environment and contractor’s equipment. • As company’s on-site representative, to ensure work is completed in accordance with the drilling program, Company operating and safety policies and good oilfield practices and in keeping with all applicable regulatory requirements. Job Responsibilities: • To supervise and ensure work progresses in accordance with company approved drilling, workover and completion programs. • Monitor and maintain adequate inventories of critical equipment and materials considering the time required for re-supply. • Remain aware of whole conditions and trends in order to anticipate potential problems. Discuss potential problem with the appropriate company supervisor and provide all relevant facts and observations. • Ensure through the appointed positions that materials, equipment and are timely and effectively mobilized/demobilized. • Ensure that all activities are reported in a timely manner and recorded fully and accurately. • Ensure that every piece of equipment run into the well has been callipered, measured (length, OD, ID e.t.c.) and that the measurements are accurate. • Visually inspect every equipment on location that has to do with the operations and ensure they are certified for the intended purposes. • Responsible for ensuring that the wellbore takes or displaces the proper amount of fluid on all trips. • Take responsibility for all pipe tallies, particularly those regarding critical operations such as casing and liner jobs, kick off points, top of fish, packer depth e.t.c. • Perform quality control checks prior to all casing and cementing jobs. • Ensure that all pressure seals in the BOP and wellhead are properly installed and pressure tested according to the drilling program or operational procedure. • Lead pre-job safety meetings and all other HSE meetings at the rig site. • Supervise the investigation and documentation of all accidents and equipment failures. • Train and mentor company drilling engineers assigned to the rig. | ||
Skills required for Drilling Supervisor | Requirements: • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Engineering or Sciences • Must possess a valid IWCF Well Control certificate or equivalent. • A valid ,medical certificate • At least 8 years experience in Drilling, Workover & Completion Engineering (5 years for night Drilling Supervisor) with the last 2 years spent on land rig operations. • Familiar with IADC codes and API standards • Strong team player in a multidiscipline environment • Good written and verbal communication skills: fluent in English language | ||
